Assemble your dumplings

Start by unrolling your refrigerated crescent dough and separating each piece. Afterwards, take the apple of your choice, this might be Fuji or Granny Smith, and then peel, cut and remove the seeds and core. From here, simply wrap the crescent dough around your apple half before placing it in a greased baking dish.

To add a little spice to your dumplings, top them off with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar. Bake until the dough is a beautiful golden brown and until the apples are nice and soft.

Make a delicious orange sauce

To elevate your dumplings to the next level, the secret truly lies in the sauce. Start by combining orange juice with some sugar in a small sauce pan. Make sure you keep an eye on the juice as you bring it to a low boil, stirring occasionally. Once the juice reduced, throw in a bit of butter to make a flavorful glaze. While the mixture is still hot, pour the orange sauce over your baked dumplings.

For the final touch, top your dumplings off with some toasted nuts from our Hickory Farms fruits and nuts collection. We recommend using our almonds or cashews.
