Crime Laboratory

Transform your home into a crime lab for a fun twist on the murder mystery. Welcome your guests with their lab coat and ID badge and leave clues so they can find the suspect. For the buffet, fill measuring cups with cubes of our cheeses and sausages and place an assortment of our mustards in petri dishes. Little decorative touches, like fingerprint pillows and placing flowers in beakers, will round out the design.

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

For a quirky and colorful soiree, throw your own Mad Hatter tea party. Tell your guests to dress up in mismatched vintage clothes and hats. Simple decor options include antique tea pots and framed character silhouettes. For an easy buffet, make an assortment of finger sandwiches from our sausage, cheese and fruit spreads. You can even decorate them with tomato slices shaped into hearts and diamonds, so the sandwiches look like playing cards. Serve the sandwiches with teas from our Ceylon Tea Collection.

Pumpkin Carnival

Throwing a pumpkin carnival is a great theme idea for all ages. Fill your home with cute games, such as a black cat bean bag toss or a ghostly can game, which can also double as decorations. Stick with simple carnival-themed snacks like our Peanut Brittle Popcorn with Chocolate Drizzle and bowls of our mixed nuts.

Harvest Festival

If you live in a region that’s still relatively warm in October, host a harvest party outside. Set up a long table decorated with red and orange tablecloths, pumpkins and fall-hued leaves. If possible, try to have a bonfire roaring in the background. For dinner, serve seasonal fruits, including our apples, peaches and nectarines, paired with cinnamon-flavored whipped cream. For something a little heartier, make a couple sandwiches with our HoneyGold Ham.

Oatmeal Dried Fruit Cookies

Add some extra flavor to traditional oatmeal cookies with the addition of some dried fruit. If your mixture of oats, butter, egg, vanilla is too dry, add a splash of some almond milk to the mix. Bake the batter on an ungreased cookie sheet for approximately 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 375°. Let them cool on the cookie sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Cashew Cookies

These nutty favorites taste even richer with the addition of sour cream and some chopped up Hickory Farms cashews. However, the real decadence lies with the burned butter frosting. Melt butter over medium heat until light brown, then add some heavy cream, confectioner’s sugar and vanilla and spread on the cooled cookies. These deliciously rich treats are sure to get rave reviews at your next harvest gathering.

Nutty Butter Cookies

Try lifestyle maven Martha Stewart’s nutty butter cookie recipe, which can be tailored to please any palate. Select your favorite nut for the batch — anything from peanuts to roasted pistachios can be added. Martha’s secret for flavorful cookies is to first toast the oats in butter and then add them to the rest of the ingredients. Her recipe makes two dozen cookies, but could easily be doubled or tripled for a large gathering.

Spiderman Strawberry Shortcakes are delicious and so easy to make! Individual shortcakes should be sprayed with whipped topping before sliced strawberries are added in the shape of this season’s favorite superhero’s face. Use mini chocolate chips to outline the eyes, and then fill in the outlines with more whipped topping.

farmhouse cheddar cheese

Guests will love these Batman Burgers topped with our Farmhouse Cheddar Cheese. Mold the burgers to resemble a face, and then after they’re cooked, trim the top in the shape of Batman ears. Use pieces of the cheese as eyes and create the face by cutting a little slit in the cheese for Batman’s mouth. You can also cut the cheese into the Batman logo and design his cape with barbecue sauce.
