Apricot Cereal Bars

Filled with protein and a hint of sweetness, cereal bars are packed with the flavors your kids crave, as well as the fuel they need. Start by toasting equal amounts of rolled oats and our mixed nuts on a baking tray until you can smell a nice, nutty fragrance. Then, throw the toasted mixture into a large bowl and add a bit of puffed cereal, flour, salt and a heaping handful of our dried apricots.

Using a food processor or blender, puree tofu, honey, vanilla, egg and, for added tang, a bit of lemon zest. Combine the tofu mixture with your mixed nuts and apricots, folding everything together with a spatula. Finish by spreading the mixture into a pan and baking.

Almond Honey Bars

Kids love granola bars, but store-bought versions are oftentimes filled with sugar and preservatives. For a soft and chewy bar you’ll feel good about feeding your little ones, make your own with this simple recipe.

Start by toasting a healthy mixture of our natural almonds with oats and your choice of seeds, such as sunflower, flax, or sesame. When the oats and nuts have turned a nice, golden brown color, mix them with chopped pieces of our dried Yellow and White Peaches, as well as a dash of our Berry Bounty Nut Mix. Then, add in a bit of honey, almond butter, brown sugar, and vanilla before baking.

Frankenstein Monster Toes

Take your average sugar cookie recipe and give it a monster twist by adding just a few drops of green food coloring to the mix. Then, shape the dough into elongated “monster toes.” You can also dye some blanched almonds with red food coloring for your monster’s nails. This treat is squeal-worthy!

Frankenstein Appetizer

Rectangles of our white Jalapeno & Cheddar cheese can make the perfect monster body when sprayed with green food coloring mist. Give Frankenstein some freaky features with creatively cut veggies, like cauliflower and baby carrots. Cut a sliver of our Summer Sausage for a ghoulish grin and Frankenstein is ready to party!

Frankenstein & His Bride Fruit Snack

This is a hair-raising, healthful snack that’s reminiscent of the movie “Young Frankenstein.” Halve a Granny Smith green apple from our Fresh From the Farm Gift Basket for the monster’s head and stack up sliced dark grapes for the hair. Don’t forget the bride’s lightning bolt hairdo! Forming mini marshmallows into a zigzag pattern will do the trick, while scraps of grape skin work great for monstrous facial features.
